Lenco May Become All Things Digital of Advertising
October 6th, 2010Lenco Mobile, a mobile and Internet ad platform company, has completed its acquisition of the Internet radio and TV ad company Jetcast, creating a practically one-stop company in terms of digital advertising.
The Santa Barbara, CA-based Lenco currently offers both a ”traditional” online ad outlet and a mobile ad outlet–the latter of which allows brands to design, manage, and execute mobile-based marketing campaigns through MMS messaging, and also offers numerous products and services like mobile sites, mobile greeting cards, high mobile ad-impression serving, and loyalty programs. The Jetcast network allows for streamed audio ads on Internet radio and Internet television sites, reaching up to 40.7 million unique visitors per month in the United States.
The merged businesses are poised to offer the widest variety of digital advertising, and to make it easy for marketers to go multi-channel at once.
Not only will Lenco enable multi-platform campaigns, it could even allow a single campaign to automatically become multi-platform. For example, streamed audio ads, to which a person must listen before being able to tune into an Internet radio broadcast, can reach consumers either on their computers or on their handsets, if they have a smartphone that can access the Web, and the particular site is mobile optimized.
And of course, the usual multi-channel strategy will work especially well on mobiles: A call-to-action display ad on a mobile Internet page can direct consumers to text-in a keyword to a shortcode, in order to receive coupons or content such as entertainment-marketing videos.
“We have set out to develop an advertising company that provides brand owners with global access to new media channels and compelling technology. Jetcast expands that reach from mobile phones and traditional online advertising to Internet radio and television,” Lenco CEO Michael Levinsohn said in a release.

April 20th, 2010The Lenco Mobile Inc. sponsored Intersport Lola BO6/10 driven by Jon Field put up the show of the weekend in the second round of the American Le Mans Series at the Toyota of Long Beach Grand Prix. Qualifying fifth, the number 37 car was third by the end of the first lap and after an early yellow flag caution, Jon Field took the lead by passing the Lowes Aston Martin Lola BO9/60 on the main straightaway. The number 37 car led for nearly an hour and then pitted, also under yellow flag, to change drivers and to take on more fuel. At the time of the pit stop, he had a 30 second lead over the Lowes Aston Martin. Shortly after the pit stop, a major leak in the ethanol fuel tank caused Clint Field, who had taken over from his father Jon, to pit again. Unfortunately the car never went out again because the tank could not be repaired.
Lenco Mobile Inc. has teamed with Intersport Racing since early last year. Michael Levinsohn, CEO and President of Lenco Mobile Inc., said at Long Beach, “Today was another demonstration of what Jon and Clint Field can do when the green flag drops. March 31st, 2010Lenco Mobile Inc. currently helps marketers create, keep and leverage customers through a multi-channel delivery model that uses various proprietary technology platforms to analyze and optimize digital marketing activities. These technology platforms and services provide an integrated set of customer acquisition and retention tools including campaign strategy and analytics, customer relationship management, lead generation, micro-site publishing and mobile messaging.
Our growth strategy is designed to cross sell existing technologies to mobile network operators in countries where we can use the current Multimedia Solutions clients as reference sites. This alone will provide access to more than one hundred mobile network operators worldwide. - A mobile phone marketing campaign can be tested on a small budget and then scaled up once the response rates have been determined, as opposed to a print or television campaign which cannot be altered on the fly;
- Business models based on performance eliminate costly upfront licensing fees and enable brand owners to amortize their spend and measure their cost to revenue ratio far better;
- Lenco Mobile Inc. earns multiple revenue streams including consumer spending, but is significantly more dependent on the mobile network operators who use the Multimedia Solutions technology to improve their efficiencies;
- Lenco Mobile Inc. will be able to grow its revenue very rapidly because of potential acquisition opportunities which have already been identified as well as through the ability to earn hard currency for the Multimedia Solutions technology as opposed to soft currency in the form of South African Rands;
- Our major competitive advantage currently lies in the fact that our MMS and MobiSite technology is tried and tested at the highest level in a very advanced mobile network operator environment and is fully operational;
- The markets for the products and services provided by Lenco Mobile Inc. will continue to grow faster than the overall economy.
